How Time Flies..

Ellow.. Welcome back!! (after such a very, very long while...)

It seems to me that my ideas of writing the blog have already drained, and perhaps I might discontinue posting articles in the blog. However, part of my mind suggest me to keep writing the blog, although I have not maintained this blog for a while. Therefore, for this post, I should dishes you with something attractive, just so that next time I will be encourage to continue writing my inside thought here.

Time have passed, and ever since then, I must say here, that I've already lost my track on K-pop scene, and perhaps its entertainment industry. Putting up together some dismal drama aired on the tele, just not so interesting that it even copies numerous Japanese-scripted drama as remakes. Nevertheless, some of the dramas managed to gain spotlight, at least in my perspective. Let us review together with me, the dramas that make the cut.

1. The Heirs

Starred by many of them view as the hot young prospect of the industry, the much anticipated "drama of the year" pieces led by the infamous Lee Minho, well known for numerous blockbuster drama KBS "Boys Before Flowers", MBC "Personal Preference", and SBS "City Hunter", a name that no need for introduction. The lead actress Park Shinhye, acted in early of last year's cable TV drama TvN "Flower Boy Next Door" and in wildly successful SBS "You're Beautiful", which put her name in the map of entertainment scene across Asia. Together joined the production are Kim Woobin, who rise into fame after his hit drama KBS "School 2013" alongside Lee Jongsuk, in which put his name in the wanted actor list. Supporting actors involved in the project are Kim Jiwon, most notable in her roles in SBS "To The Beautiful You" and short dramas such as KBS "Waiting For Love", Krystal Jung (MBC "High Kick 3: The Revenge of the Short-Legged", member of girl group f(x)), Kang Minhyuk (KBS "You Who Rolled In Unexpectedly", member of boyband CN Blue), Kang Haneul (SBS "To The Beautiful You", TvN "Monstar"), Park Hyungsik (member of ZE:A - Children of Empire), and Choi Jinhyuk (MBC "Pasta", SBS "It's Okay, Daddy's Daughter", and MBC "Gu Family Book").

The collaboration between the director of SBS "Tazza" & SBS "Midas", together with the scriptwriter of SBS "Secret Garden" and SBS "A Gentlemen's Dignity", it scores rather well in it timeslot, reaching an average of 16.7% Seoul viewers and 18.4% nationwide. The drama was proven succesful in terms of rating, eventhough it receives stiff competition form KBS drama "Secret Love" at the beginning of the broadcast. The drama, after a long while of hype, tuned in the television, with the beginning part of the drama was shot in Malibu, California in the summer.

2. I Hear Your Voice

Led by the award-winning Daesang winner Lee Boyoung (KBS "You Who Rolled In Unexpectedly and KBS "The Equator Man") and the rise young talent Lee Jongsuk (SBS "Secret Garden" and MBC "High Kick 3: The Revenge of the Short-Legged"), the drama was somehow a theme repeat of 2012 drama of the year SBS "The Chaser", portraying humanities as its main theme. The drama's strength lies in its strong character and storyline, together with the critically-acclaimed act of both the lead actors Lee Boyoung and Lee Jongsuk itself, particularly the former, who won her first Daesang ever, thanks to her acting prowess. The touchful acts and also the perfect reprisal of psychotic villain in actor Jung Woongin ( KBS "Ojakgyo Brothers") helps in gaining its own audience during its broadcast. Together with Yoon Sanghyun (SBS "Secret Garden and KBS "Take Care of The Young Lady"), this drama is worth watching for.

3. Gu Family Book

Starred by the "bluechip" of the industry Lee Seunggi (SBS "My Girlfriend is Nine-Tailed Fox" and SBS "Brilliant Legacy") and Bae Suzy (KBS "Dream High" and KBS "Big", member of girl group miss A), the alternate history drama provides alternatives to the viewers who crave for some fantasy romantic genre. And this was the trend of last year's production. Audience who watch the drama will be pleased to watch the chemistry of both actor in getting into their character. last for 21 episode, the drama never feels bored for those who watching the whole episodes of it. The smooth storyline written by the scenarist Kang Eun Kyung, who is famous in writing the 2010 national drama KBS "King of Baking, Kim Takgu". The drama also features some popular actor such as Lee Yeonhee (SBS "Paradise Ranch" and a 2006 it movie "A Millionaire's First Love"), Choi Jinhyuk (MBC "Pasta", SBS "It's Okay, Daddy's Daughter", and MBC "Gu Family Book") together with supporting cast Lee Yubi (KBS "Nice Guy"), Sung Joon ("SBS "Lie To Me", TvN "Shut Up Flower Boy Band") and Yoo Yeonsuk (movie Introduction to Architecture).

4. The Master's Sun

The romantic comedy queen is back with another bang! Gong Hyojin (MBC "Pasta" and MBC "the Greatest Love") has return with her new project, together with another great actor So JI Sub "SBS "What Happened in Bali" and SBS "Ghost"). Another romantic comedy in stores, the lead actress sure have her talent under he sleeves. Comedy has always been the mainstream trend in the entertainment scene, but with a touch in supernatural element make this drama totally different with the previous comedic predecessor. Together joined the cast is Seo Inguk, after his successful transformation from audition singing contest winner to an actor with success drama under his belt, with TvN's "Reply 1997" with A-Pink Jung Eunji. A gamble to create the drama on metaphysical theme, but it is a success in this project. Surely Gong Hyojin a lady luck in every drama she stars; this drama is not an exception.

5. Good Doctor

The only KBS Drama in the list, God Doctor stars Joo Won, who was famous with his highly praised works in KBS "King of Baking, Kim Takgu" KBS "Bridal Mask" and MBC "7th Grade Civil Servant", alongside the ever improving Moon Chaewon (SBS "Brilliant Legacy" and KBS "The Princess Man" and "Nice Guy"), this medical drama is another hot drama aired in last year's period. It was rare to see a medical drama triumph in the rating battle between the main 3 public brodcaster, but Good Doctor is an exception. Joo Won who has already known in his short stint in KBS veriety show "2 Days 1 Night", proved that his magic in acting is still not faded yet. And so Moon Chaewon, the actress gained attraction after her firm courteous dynasty lady portrayed in move "War of The Arrows" puts her name in the most-sought after actress. The combination of both popular actors led to the success of the drama, supported by the matured acting of the actor Joo Sang Wook (KBS "The Thorn Birds", SBS "Paradise Ranch" & SBS "Giant") and chic acting by Kim Minseo (KBS "Sungkyunkwan Scandal", KBS "Babyfacd Beauty" and MBC's 2012 most successful historical drama "The Moon That Embraces The Sun".

Interest of the Moment: Flower Boy Next Door

Welcome again..

Yesterday, I promise myself that I will give myself some time to post updates to my blog; glad I fulfill it. This recent weeks I suddenly encounter across a drama that I would anticipate it, since my favourite actress was in there (actor??). Well, let's see what's in store for my article, right after this.

Flower Boy Next Door (이웃집 꽃미남, romanised spelling "Yi-ut-jib Kkot-mi-nam") is the drama produce by CJ Entertainment, aired in the cable channel tvN and OnStyle. For those who are familiar with the "Flower Boy" series, I'm sure everyone involved were interested it, after the success of its predecessor "Flower Boy Ramyun Shop" (Jung Il Woo, Lee Chung Ah)  and "Shut Up Flower Boy Band" (Sang Joon, Jung Ui Chul and Infinite's L). The third installment of "Oh Boy" series was highly anticipated by majority of fans, as the star-studded cast Yoon Shi Yoon (Baker King Kim Takgu, High Kick to the Roof) and Park Shin Hye (You're Beautiful, Heartstring) have joined the project. Park Shin Hye was after all, rise into superstardom with hit release of flower boy band drama You're Beautiful, alongside Prince of Asia, Jang Geun Suk, CNBLUE leader Jung Yong Hwa and FT Island frontman Lee Hong Ki. In the drama where Park Shin Hye acted as a girl disguise as a man to fit in the legendary fictional band A.N.Jell, the drama receive explosive success overseas. Yoon Shi Yoon were dubbed "Rating Prince" after his successful lead role portrayed in Baker King, Kim Takgu, reaching 50.8% at its peak.

Flower Boy Next Door is based on the popular webtoon "I Peak At Him Everyday", this rom-com drama is all about a girl named Go Dok Mi (Park Shin Hye) who lock herself in her "tower" trying to peak at a man live next door. However, she was caught spying by Enrique Geum (Yoon Shi Yoon), a genius creative director, who is good-looking, stylish and bohemian and can′t get enough of soccer, who also has his own problem that can relate to. Go Dok Mi is modeled as a "city Rapunzel" who never ventures outdoors, yet has her own set of charms that makes men flutter.

Along the cast who also involved in this project are Park Soo Jin, who will provide antagonistic elements in the drama, Kim Yoon Hye (formerly known as Woori, Shin Hye's castmate in "Heartstring"), and Kim Seul Gi (the quirky webtoon editor in the series).

I really anticipate it, and so do you the reader, I hope.

Of Boyfriend and...

Then now I'll talk about business k...

Recently, I came across a new song, sung by a new Korean boyband, Boyfriend. Labelmate with outstanding soloist K.Will and super-hottie SISTAR, Boyfriend would be anticipated to follow their labelmates' success. Who doesn't know K.Will (popular with his mellow voice and hits such as "I Need You", "My Heart Is Beating" and newly hit-release "Please Don't"), and SISTAR (immensely popular with Brave Brothers' chart-smashing hit like "How Dare You", "So Cool", "Alone" and "Loving You", along with their super sexy concept). Enough of "appetizer", let's talk about the "main dishes" of the post.

Boyfriend, stylised as BOYFRIEND, is their third project of the company Starship Entertainment, intruducing their first ever boyband from their stores. They have released several singles, notably "Boyfriend" "Don't Touch My Girl" and "I'll Be There", but not until "Janus" then they are immensely popular in K-Pop entertainment. In fact, "Janus" really struck their luck, exposing them to all their fans with their amusing transformation.

In my opinion, "Janus" really gives them luck. The song arrangement is really mesmerising, with variety sound of orchestrated violin and elements of pop incorporated in the song. The combination of classic and modern fusion of the song really catchy, along with the alluring vocal form each of the member, it really hit them gold this time.

Not believing me, well it's up to their taste, but I think it pretty suit them well...

It's Been A While

It's been a while..

now everything's changed a little, since this is my latest post in a while..

Well, I just have no idea what I would be blurting here, but still, I want to (hahaha...).

Nowadays, there are many trends ever passed since my last post here, Apparently the dominance of Gangnam Style, by PSY, it seems to be that the "fire " that spread throughout the world doesn't seem to die down.. yet. Since the first time I've heard the news from Korean website, the teaser, the music vid, the support videos from fellow musicians, singers and actors, he really goes all the way, to the unprecedented achievement, even when it's compared with BIGBANG, another fellow Korean that marked their presence in Hollywood. Ever since the release of the music videos, many "Youtubers" are coming to watch the videos that went viral and explosive, thanks to his "classy suit, cheesy act" performance in his music videos.

The heck did this man do, but still most people love it.

Personally I don't think he will make it; not until this level, but I can assure you, I like his video, with his "nonsensical" artistic style. But if you watch his previous video, such as "Right Now", "Champion", "Bird", "Entertainer", you will know that this man is really as he portrays in his hit-sensation Gangnam Style. He has the quality, the quality that makes people enjoys together along with his antics. It's no wonder why he is also called "King of Entertainers" or "King of Concerts"; he give his all to his fan during his concerts.

If we talk about his dance; the choreography, it's just very simple (for most of people though), the "horse-riding" dance, a suit, a black spectacles, and a bow. However, I have to admit; he is creative, in his own way. The making of the video clip, depicts how he starts galloping at the pedestrian crossing in Gangnam, a place known as it's highly sophisticated lifestyle of its residents.

Depicting the New York Times articles dated September 20, 2012,

"Why the original video, released in July, has gained such popularity is anyone’s guess. In it, Mr. Park, 34, does a “horse riding” dance that looks vaguely like what children do when they hop around pretending to be galloping. He raps and dances around Seoul, all in the company of pretty women and to a song with an infectious beat.

In short, the performer, popularly known as PSY (short for Psycho), has done what K-Pop bands have failed to do. While those groups have choreographed their way to success all over Asia, they have made less headway in other parts of the world. Mr. Park, with his willingness to allow himself to be made fun of with a buffoonish performance, is a global success.

His video has more than 220 million views on YouTube and several parodies themselves have gone viral. A recent spoof landed some lifeguards in California in trouble: news reports say they were fired for using city property as their set."

Until now, this video has currently reached 731,550,596 viewers, an unprecedented record for a Korean, and an Asian, that has never ever directly promoted in US. It is, now hold the record of the 2nd most viewed video in the world; only his new US labelmate Justin Bieber tops him with his hit single "Baby". He also hold the most liked videos in Youtube with 5,124,147 like, beating LMFAO's "Party Rock Anthem".

And that's not all; he won "Best Video" at MTV Europe Music Award just few days back, beating nominees M.I.A, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Rihanna.

[p/s: I think that's enough for today, maybe some very exciting articles next time. C U then, Bye.....]

Fansubber : The Real Drive Behind Hallyu Wave?

Ellow, welcome again..

I certainly wonder, how can the Hallyu Wave spread into the non-Korean-speaking nation? It's just so that they should have a medium to present the show in a way that people can understand what are the talk about? I think that the real drive behind the Hallyu Wave is the Fansubbers itself.

Honestly, how can the like they show without even know what they are talking about? The Koreans are always said that the reason people like them because of their music that can penetrate the hearts of the youth, their dramas that can touch soul of the softest person. But how is that true without they even understand the contents of the show itself?

So here's the solution; the Fansubbers. I'm not a Korean, but my friends really loved it. Listen to the music, dramas and variety shows make them laugh and cry together. But before that, let us define what the fansubber is.

Simply stated, that fansubbers are the people who take their time to sub the content of show (usually their favourites) into the language where they can understand of. They are not paid to do it; it is just a hobby for them. They survived by donations made to them using internet transaction into their account, usually the donation used for server maintenance. To learn more, click THIS.

Personally I do not understand, why suddenly some party wanted to summon the people who made this? Ever since the SOPA-PIPA incident, many file sharing site were busily deleting their members' files, or trying to restrict it to just a file storage site? Of even in some country, they are even blocking the torrent site, to the means of summon them if they break the rules? Obviously, is this are helpful to them? In the name of copyright, they are actively suing as many individual as possible that involved in either making, distributing and even watching the contents that was subbed to the way that we are finally UNDERSTAND the show!

Pardon me, this is a little political, but I was just upset with some people who are trying to generate money by using filesuits to people who does not even received money from the job the are really like and not even receive profit from them itself? Now it happens to become very difficult just to watch the programme that I like. Even they deleted their videos in YouTube services. It goes to this extend - I can only watch it once, in television.

I do not know if I should say this; you, the fansubbers, I am very grateful to your determination to just doing this as a hobby itself, not  afraid of any hindrance coming towards you, and providing a very precious alternative services that aims to just one thing; makes us happy. You may have difficulty in generating money sources to maintain the base, and I don't even have a pence of money to donate for. However, believe me, as many donator who appreciate all of your works, there are many more people who are impressed, just by thinking that you have effort to do fansubbing and even providing an ALTERNATIVE VIDEO SOURCES, which a little or not, contributing to the expansion of any industry that we love alike.

[p/s: it's very emotional, isn't it. I just wanted to express mu frustration to something that i like, very much. it could one of the few interesting things that left in my life. Till then...]

Which Will Be The Next Singer To Win in Music Chart??

Lately, there are many idols debuted, and not little of them won the music chart. Meanwhile, there are several group/singers that do not win any music chart show (excluding the real time chart, digital chart, etc.) until this article is written. Therefore, shall we predict which singer/group will win the music chart show, as recently, there are some moves to abolished music chart show, as opposed to the current format [click here]. It may look like a prediction, but let's just read my suggestion.

EXO-K

Group Name : EXO-K
Debut : April 8, 2012

Another project by SM Entertainment, and their project is always satisfying. Consists of two subgroup, EXO-K and EXO-M (k for Korean; M for Mandarin), this group enters the scene with several trailer posted by the company. Sleek performance, as well as strong fanbase gathered even before their official debut, this group may promise you some excitement; it could be to reminisce the golden age of DBSK, one extravagant group ever produced by SM Entertainment, currently holds the record for most registered fans in Korea; almost 800,000 in Seoul only.

Juniel

Real Name : Choi Jun Hee
Debut : April 29, 2011 (Japan); June7, 2012 (Korea)

Another hottest rookie emerged, giving a different feel in music style. She was occasionally associated with nation's younger sister IU with her guitar playing skill, but unlike IU, her acoustic music is her main genre. Already made names in Japan after winning Japanese audition program "Niji Iro Supernova", she will be the singer expected to win music show sooner.

Ailee

Real Name : Lee Ye Jin
Debut : February 8, 2012

Spend much time of her life in New York, she was not called "Scary Rookie" for nothing. Deep inside her cute, innocent personality, lies her strong, sensual voice that even shatter some of the powerful vocalist in the nation. Only with her debut song "Heaven", she already compete head-to-head with Big Bang for winners of KBS Music Bank K-Chart, which eventually goes to Big Bang. The alarming potential of hers was already noticed when she participate in Chuseok special show held by MBC, "Singer and Trainee", along with her mentor Wheesung. With her cover of Beyonce's "Halo", she mesmerise the viewers and even fellow contestants with her sultry New Jersey style of singing. She will win that's for sure; it's just a matter of when it happens.

B1A4

Group Name : B1A4
Debut : April 21, 2011

It looks like these boys gained much recognition, thanks to their latest album, "IGNITION". Their lead single, "Baby I'm Sorry" sparked shockwaves along the fans, which composed and written by one of their member, Jinyoung. They might be new, and there is a long way to achieve the winning feat, but as Beast and Infinite, they will follow the suit too.

U-KISS

Group Name : U-KISS
Debut : August 15, 2008 (Japan), August 28, 2008 (Korea)

This group remains one of the oldest boy group that never ever won any music chart show, until now the article is written. They are at a generation of 2PM, SHINee and 2AM, yet they still do not win any. Many hit singles that they have released, such as "Man Man Ha Ni (Am I That Easy)', "Round and Round", "0330" and "Neverland", but neither of them have won. It is hope that they will end the winless streak in music chart, and I believe they will, soon.

[p/s: That's all for today. There are many band that have potential to win, but i just too tired to type anymore. So see you then, and thanks to all the viewers that have encountered across this page. By the way, my post "The 90's Line" have achieved 2570 viewers in just 3 months, and that is an all-time record in my blog, as my post about girl group and boy band idol, which was posted more than 2 years ago, only reached 2467 viewers. Thanks a lot, and what a feat!!!]

Japan Drama Rating

Ellow..

It's now a new topic, maybe some info for those who r interested only.

Basically, i wouldn't download any drama without any reason. To me, one of the reason i would download it is when the rating are necessary enough to convince me to download. Btw, let me tell u guyz sumthin' bout it.

Every drama that airs in TV has a company that organised in the rating system of the drama. However, there is no solid science on how to interpret these rating percentages. For drama fans, simply the drama with the highest percentage is the "winner" for the week. The fans use these numbers to decide which dramas they should watch during the remainder of the season. Despite this simple interpretation, there are one or more factors that may come into play that explain why some dramas receive higher percentage points than others. For example evening dramas draw better ratings than dramas that air in the mornings and afternoons. These r some data that may help you choose the best drama for your enjoyment.

Running Man : Introduction

Ellow again...

The last 2 months were full of work and as expected, I again did not update my entry here. It's a shame to me that I couldn't figure out some time to post an article, (or an entry as for sure). Since I just do not have much ideas to think of, let's just enjoy what I will write, and I'm just write, and write and write anything that ever cross my mind. K, let me just write anything that comes in my mind..

Running Man.

It is a show that I am likely to watch every week without stop, let's just say that it's a good show. But what I like about it is not just it's show, cause I have some memories lies with some of the cast inside the show. Well, let us proceed to the main subject of the entry.

T-ara, often stylized as T-ARA or T♔ARA is a popular South Korean girl group formed by Core Contents Media (subsidiaries of Mnet Media), in 2009. Some of the members have actually active in the industry, prior to their debut. Originally a 5-member group, they first release their song through soundtrack of MBC drama Cinderella Man, "Good Person". One of the member, Park Ji Yeon, was included in project with Davichi and Seeya, performing "Women's Generation" in public broadcast music show.

T-ara formally debut into entertainment show through Mnet Countdown, performing "Lies". They achieve success with their first all-kill song, "Bo Peep Bo Peep", sweeping all awards in public broadcast chart. They later made their comeback with "I Go Crazy Because Of You" and "I'm Really Hurt".

However, their follow-up song did not meet their instant success. Their  song "Why are You Being Like This" and " Yayaya" cannot replicate their success in "Bo Peep Bo Peep". In the following year, their song "Roly-Poly" almost break their long-awaited drought in winning Music Bank. They are in the Top 2 for almost 2 months, but to no avail. After a long years of waiting, they finally won their Music Bank K-Chart, with their follow-up song, "Lovey Dovey", reminiscing their success beforehand with "Bo Peep Bo Peep".Nonetheless, almost all of their song were crowned winner in other public broadcast, amidst the long waiting at KBS.
